The United States will double tariffs on steel from 25% to 50% . The announcement was made by US President Donald Trump . "It is my great honor to raise tariffs on steel and aluminum from 25% to 50% , effective Wednesday, June 4. Our steel and aluminum industries are recovering like never before," he wrote on his social Truth.
The tycoon added that "this will be another great news for our wonderful steel and aluminum workers . Let's make America great again ."
Trump's statements come after the announcement at US Steel. The doubling, as specified, will also concern aluminum.
