King Charles III attended the traditional Trooping the Colour parade in the heart of London with the entire Royal Family, including Princess Kate, the highlight of the celebrations for the 76-year-old sovereign's official (not chronological) birthday, but with signs of mourning for the disaster of the Air India Boeing 787, which crashed on Thursday after take-off from Ahmedabad, in north-western India, killing 279 people according to the provisional toll, including 52 Britons.

As happened last year , Charles III took part in the procession along the Mall in a carriage with Queen Camilla and not on horseback, unlike Prince William and Princess Anne, an expert rider and former Olympic equestrian.

In addition to mourning the air tragedy, with a minute of silence to remember the victims, the celebration in general took place in a sober atmosphere also in light of the international tensions following the attacks between Israel and Iran.

The closing act of the celebration included the symbolic greeting to the people of the royal family overlooking the balcony of Buckingham Palace and the inevitable passage of the Red Arrows, the acrobatic team of the United Kingdom, which for the first time in a public event uses a more ecological fuel mix. Something that certainly pleases the sovereign, a champion of environmental protection.
