The Nobel Prize for Economics rewards women: the recognition goes to Claudia Goldin

American Claudia Goldin is the winner of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Economics .

A labor economist, Goldin, 77, is a professor at Harvard University and is famous for his studies on the "gender gap" .

In the reasons for the recognition, Stockholm cites Goldin's investigations precisely "on the understanding of issues related to women on the labor market ".

Goldin, they add, “ provided the first comprehensive account of how much women earn and their participation in the labor market over the centuries . Her research highlights both the reasons for the change and the main sources of the remaining gender gap."
