The body of Elad Katzir (47 years old), a hostage kidnapped last October 7 by Islamic Jihad in the Nir Oz kibbutz, was recovered by the Israeli army in an operation in the Strip and brought back to Israel.

The military spokesperson made this known, explaining that the remains of Katzir, "killed in captivity by Islamic Jihad", were recovered by soldiers last night in Khan Yunis, in the south of the Strip, after having been "located on the intelligence base of 'IDF and Shin Bet».

Katzir was kidnapped together with his mother Hanna, then released on November 24th. Father Avraham was killed on the kibbutz.

The sister pointed the finger at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying, which "could have been saved."

The hostages' families forum also appealed to the government: «The State of Israel will not be able to recover if we bury all 133 hostages who were left behind. We don't have a single day to waste. Elad Katzir was still alive 3 months ago, during which time there were signs to this effect and reports about his condition reaching Israel. Three months in which there was the possibility of saving him and making him return home alive."
