Strong earthquake in Peru.

A 7.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the north of the country, about 42 kilometers north-west of Barranca, as reported by the US geological monitoring service Usgs.

No tsunami warnings have been issued for the time being.

The quake, with its epicenter at sea, struck at 5:52 local time (10:52 GMT) at a depth of 112.5 kilometers.
