Dramatic moments today in a ski resort in the Spanish Pyrenees, in Astùn, where a chairlift fell, injuring 10 people . The accident occurred around 12. According to the reconstruction of these injured, two were hospitalized in serious conditions, while two others needed rapid assistance. Another 20 people, as reported in the bulletin issued, were assisted on site without needing to be transported to the hospital.

The general director of the regional emergency services of Aragon, Miguel Ángel Clavero, explained that "there was a problem with one of the chairlift's return pulleys . This caused the cable to lose tension and some seats to fall, while others remained hanging between the pillars of the chairlift."

Clavero added that, for now, at least three people have been taken to the hospital: one in a reserved prognosis with a fracture and two in serious conditions, one of which probably requires urgent intervention. The Civil Guard, Police, Red Cross, Civil Protection, firefighters and a team of psychologists are active on site.

"I am shocked by the news of the accident at Astún station," wrote Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez in X. "I spoke with the president of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, to offer him all the government's support. All our affection for the injured and their families," concluded Sanchez.
