Serious accident in Colombia where a small plane went off the runway and crashed in the area where some street vendors were stationed outside the “Simón Bolívar” airport in Santa Marta.

A three-year-old boy was killed and another was seriously injured.

The aircraft, a Cirrus SF50 with 7 people on board, was taking off for Bogotà but the maneuver was unsuccessful due to causes that are under investigation.

The Santa Marta Police confirmed that the plane, owned by the private company Panamerican Training Center-PTC, overwhelmed the stalls of the children who sold their products outside the airport, while the two crew members and the five passengers sustained minor injuries.
