Shipwreck in Greece: "600 dead, a hundred children in the hold". 12 smugglers arrested
In the meantime, the EU is moving, seeking - with difficulty - a common line on sea rescue and relocationThere could be 600 dead in the shipwreck of Pylos, in Greece, where a fishing boat overloaded with migrants capsized.
The survivors, a hundred, reported that there were at least 100 children in the hold.
Meanwhile, investigations by the Hellenic Coast Guard have led to the arrest of a dozen people, suspected of being the smugglers who organized the death journey from Libya.
After the umpteenth tragedy, the European Union is moving to try to find a common line in terms of rescue at sea and the relocation of migrants arriving in EU countries.
But the governments are split: Poland wants a referendum on relocations, while Spain launches an appeal for unity of purpose.
