South Korea's appeal to declare a formal end to the Korean War was met with coldly by Pyongyang, but the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un called South Korean President Moon Jae-in's proposal "admirable".

On Tuesday, the South Korean leader had launched an appeal to the UN General Assembly, proposing that the two Koreas with the United States, or with the United States and China, formally declare the end of the conflict (that of 1950-53 is never formally ceased).

"Nothing will change - the response of Pyongyang - until the hostile policy towards us towards the United States is changed. The withdrawal of the US from the double standard and from hostile politics is the highest priority to stabilize the situation in the Peninsula and guarantee peace".

Kim Yo-jong's swamp arrived today. The sister of the North Korean leader described the Seoul proposal as "admirable" and expressed the willingness to discuss an improvement in relations "if Seoul puts aside its hostile policy towards us".

"The right conditions should be created - he specified - by eliminating inveterate hostile politics and double standards".
