The group of seven Sardinian passengers stranded in Dubai on the MSC Euribia due to the war between the US and Iran, who yesterday, through their families, had asked Regional President Alessandra Todde for help in solving the situation , are preparing for repatriation.
The group is among the first 563 Italian passengers aboard the ship for five nights, and two return charter flights have been scheduled. This represents approximately 350 people.
The return flight will take place from Dubai Airport (not Abu Dhabi as initially announced). The departure for Rome was scheduled for late Thursday evening, but has been postponed to Friday morning.
MSC Cruises, a company statement read, has been working to find the safest and most expeditious way to repatriate its guests and has taken further measures to expedite this process, launching a dedicated flight operation that currently includes five charter flights, with the first scheduled to depart today, Thursday, March 5. These flights are expected to allow approximately 1,000 guests to depart the region by Saturday . Meanwhile, MSC Cruises continues to evaluate all possible solutions for the remaining guests, including commercial flights, additional charter options, and coordinated solutions with the support of the relevant authorities.
