King Charles III has been admitted to the London Clinic to undergo prostate surgery. Buckingham Palace announced it.

The private hospital in the British capital is the same one where Princess Kate is after undergoing abdominal surgery. The sovereign arrived in a car accompanied by Queen Camilla.

In the statement issued by the royal entourage only reference is made to a generic hospital in London but the British media confirm that the sovereign is in the clinic where the wife of Prince William, the king's eldest son, underwent surgery in recent days and where she is spending convalescence.

«His Majesty would like to thank all those who sent their good wishes during the last

week and is pleased to learn that his diagnosis is having a positive impact on public health awareness,” the statement reads.

The scheduled procedure the sovereign underwent concerns a benign prostate condition. From what we learn, the sovereign's conditions "are good".

According to the BBC, Charles visited the Princess of Wales in her hospital room before preparing for the operation. It is not yet known how long the king will remain at the London Clinic (there is talk of at least a day), but Queen Consort Camilla will take his place during official commitments.
