Pope Francis' trip to Dubai, on the occasion of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, has been canceled at the request of doctors.

The Holy See makes this known.

"Despite the improvement in the Holy Father's clinical picture regarding the state of flu and inflammation of the respiratory tract, the doctors have asked him not to make the trip scheduled for the next few days to Dubai", communicates Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni.

«Pope Francis - Bruni reports - accepted the doctors' request with great regret and the trip is therefore cancelled. As the Pope and the Holy See remain willing to be part of the discussions taking place in the coming days, the ways in which this can be implemented will be defined as soon as possible."
