«Pope Francis is ill»: commitments cancelled
The pontiff struck by the flu and subjected to a CT scan. Conditions are being monitored in view of the next appointments. The trip to Dubai for COP28 is scheduled for December 1st
«The Holy Father's hearings scheduled for this morning are canceled due to a slight bout of flu». This was communicated by the Holy See Press Office.
Today Pope Francis had scheduled, among other things, a meeting with the president of the Republic of Guinea Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló.
In the early hours of the afternoon Francesco also underwent a CT scan at the Gemelli Isola Hospital in Rome, to exclude the risk of pulmonary complications. The test gave a negative result and the Pope returned to Casa Santa Marta.
His condition is being monitored because Bergoglio will have a very busy agenda in the next few days.
Apart from the Angelus on Sunday and the general audience on Wednesday, the pontiff is in fact expected in Dubai, where his participation in the COP28 on climate change is scheduled from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd December.
