North Korean news agency KCNA released a series of photographs showing the earth from space, showing the Korean peninsula and part of China.

Pyongyang says the images were made by the Hwasong-12 intermediate-range ballistic missile, defined as the most powerful ever launched.

The trajectory of the missile, launched yesterday, covered a distance of 800 kilometers on the earth's surface reaching an altitude of 2,000 km, therefore abundantly in space, before falling off the coast of Japan.

The missile, which can theoretically cover a distance of 4,000 km, was launched with a very vertical route precisely to avoid hitting neighboring countries, Pyongyang said through its agency.
