Attack on the former president of the People's Party of Catalonia, Alejo Vidal-Quadras Rocha.
The 78-year-old Spanish politician is in very serious condition after being shot in the face in Núñez de Balboa street , in the center of Madrid.
The former popular deputy was walking alone on the street when a man approached him, probably on a motorbike, and shot him from a distance of about two meters.
Then he fled, the police are on his trail.
Vidal-Quadras, president of the Catalan PP from 1991 to 1996, was vice-president of the European Parliament and among the founders of the far-right party Vox.
