It all started with an argument outside a club in Lanzarote , in the Canary Islands , with the fight quickly escalating into a violent beating . Thus began the race to the hospital for 30-year-old Italian Salvatore Sinagra , where he is now hospitalized in danger of life with a serious head injury. "I don't even know why they could have attacked him," said his father Andrea, one of the most famous fishermen in Favignana, who was forced to rush to the hospital in Las Palmas, where his son is now. The details of what happened are still being defined and no one responsible for the attack has yet been identified.
According to initial reconstructions, although it is not clear on which day of the week the beating took place, Sinagra was in a bar with some friends, where he was playing table football. Here, an initial argument with other customers of the place would have taken place. After a few minutes, the boy originally from Favignana went out to smoke a cigarette and there he would have been beaten. Kicks and punches, the use of a crowbar is not excluded. The attackers then fled.
The young man had moved to Lanzarote some time ago, where he had worked first as a pizza chef and then as a bar and cafe manager. But the adventure abroad was about to come to an end, with the decision to return home soon. His father, who has now joined him, has contacted a lawyer to speak with the Spanish police. "But at the moment nothing is known, it seems that he was attacked for no reason," he said.
