The death toll from the Israeli bombings that resumed yesterday on the Gaza Strip has risen to more than sixty, according to local medical sources cited by Arab media.

The new IDF raids against Hamas risk undermining the ceasefire agreements signed in recent days with the mediation of the United States.

US President Donald Trump, however, stated that "nothing" would jeopardize the ceasefire in Gaza, adding that Israel was ready to retaliate if its soldiers were killed.

The Jewish state accuses Hamas of having attacked its troops, violating the truce.

"They killed an Israeli soldier. So the Israelis responded. And they had to respond," Trump explained to reporters.
