US first lady Jill Biden underwent surgery to remove a basal cell carcinoma above her eye. The cancerous tissue, confirmed the doctor at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, was entirely removed.
The post-operative path, assures the White House, is proceeding well, the wife of the US president, 71, has "a swelling and a bruise on her face but she is in a good mood and feels good", she will soon resign.
