Bavaria, one of the Laender most affected by the fourth wave in Germany, tightens anti-Covid measures.

With the traditional Christmas markets closed, Bavarian citizens will have to do without them for the second year in a row. Discos and bars must close again for the next few weeks, announced president Markus Soeder, who gave a press conference on the package of new restrictions decided today in Munich.

Soeder also explained that for the other activities the 2G (vaccinated and cured only) and the 2G plus (vaccinated or cured with the additional negative result of a tampon) remain valid throughout the Region. Reduction of contacts for the unvaccinated will also be prescribed.

In particular, in some areas of Bavaria, the most affected, everything will be closed until December 15, except for schools and kindergartens. These are the areas where the weekly incidence exceeds 1000 infections per 100 thousand inhabitants. "We need a hard emergency brake," Soeder said.
