Boris Johnson deploys the navy in the English Channel to stop immigrant landings and announces a draconian and highly controversial plan to combat illegal immigration.

The premier's announcement was made during a speech given on the English coast of Kent during which BoJo explained his plan.

Which, among other things, provides that "some of the asylum seekers" are transferred to Rwanda for the management of the bureaucratic process related to their requests.

An "unsustainable" situation according to Downing Street, which speaks of "record" landings on the island: only yesterday more than 600 people arrived after crossing the English Channel on small boats and rafts, bringing this year's total to over 5 thousand.

Johnson points the finger at human traffickers, pointing out that London cannot tolerate an illegal system: "Our compassion may be infinite, but our ability to help people is not."

Priti Patel, Minister of the Interior, will sign a 120 million pound agreement with the government of Rwanda which in some cases provides for rapid repatriation of asylum seekers who have arrived in the Kingdom and the management of the entire bureaucratic process in the African country.
