In Gaza, the liberation of Israeli hostages held by Hamas continues, as part of the ceasefire agreements in the Strip.

The militants today freed Eli Sharabi, Ohad ben Ami and Or Levy, handing them over to the Red Cross. The three were then handed over to the IDF. In exchange, 183 Palestinian prisoners will be released by Israel.

As in previous days, the release was accompanied by a sort of "show": the three prisoners were made to go up on a stage, flanked by armed and masked militiamen and, in front of cameras and cell phones, the release document was signed by a Hamas official and a delegate from the Red Cross.

THE HOSTAGES – Eli Sharabi , 52, was kidnapped by militants from his home a few kilometers from the Strip during the attacks on October 7, 2023. His family suffered a cruel fate: his wife and daughters, aged 13 and 16, were all killed. His brother, who was kidnapped with him, lost his life during an Israeli raid in the Strip. The man was only made aware of the cruel fate of his family after his release. Also released were Or Levy, 34, who was captured during the attack on the rave party in Re'im, while Ohad be Ami was kidnapped together with his wife, who was freed during a previous hostage exchange.
