Hamas is ready to accept the ceasefire agreement in Gaza in exchange for the release of Israeli hostages.

The news about the white smoke in the negotiations between the Palestinian paramilitary organization and the Tel Aviv government was reported by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz and some Arab media.

According to Haaretz, "the United States has assured Hamas of complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and that Israeli forces will not continue fighting once the hostages are released."

Israeli sources, however, have denied the desire to lay down their weapons: "Israel, under no circumstances, will agree to end the war as part of an agreement and remains determined to enter Rafah," an official told Haaretz.
