So said Greg Bovino , a now retired symbol of the controversial ICE operation in Minneapolis , in an interview with Repubblica.

"My only regret," Bovino said, "is that we should have arrested and expelled more illegal immigrants . It is possible to immigrate to the United States, but it must be done within the law."

Regarding illegal immigration in Europe, Bovino said that, in his opinion, the situation is an emergency: "Look at Sweden , for example. It used to be a paradise, where everyone lived in safety. Now it has become the world capital of rape committed by illegal immigrants ." "Even in your country," he added, "there are too many illegal immigrants, who harm citizens." The solution, in his opinion, would be "mass deportation, as we are doing. There are no alternatives."
