A cable car cabin collided with a crane truck at a construction site yesterday in the French ski resort of Alpe d'Huez, injuring 23 people, three seriously . The town hall and the prefecture announced the news.

"There are people in shock and with concussions, but almost all of those hospitalized have been discharged" yesterday evening, explained Mayor Jean-Yves Noyrey. Three people sustained serious injuries and remain in the hospital.

Yesterday morning, a cable car carrying about fifty people on the "Pic Blanc" line struck the articulated arm of a crane truck while exiting a station at an altitude of 2,700 meters.

From initial investigations, it appears that the crane operator had forgotten that the cableway cabin was nearby.
