Attack on a prison police van in France, with two officers killed and three seriously injured .

The episode occurred at the Incarville motorway toll booth, in Normandy, between Rouen and Evreux . On board the vehicle there was a prisoner who the officers were transferring.

The attack was conducted with a car-ram, the officers came under shotgun fire . The prisoner managed to escape and is now on the run with his accomplices . He was in the van being transferred from the investigating judge's office in Rouen, where the interrogation had taken place, to the Evreux prison where he is being held.

The escapee is called Mohamed Amra and is known as "the fly", he is a thirty-year-old who last Tuesday was sentenced to 18 months for an attempted murder in Saint-Etienne-de-Rouvray and is also under investigation in Marseille for a murder committed on 17 June 2022 in Aubagne. He would have killed a resident of Dreux in an affair linked to drug trafficking. Amra is a well-known drug trafficker , who the judges were only able to convict of attempted murder. According to Le Parisien, which cites a source from the prison where he was detained, two days ago he had attempted to saw off the bars of his cell and had been transferred to a different area of the prison for disciplinary reasons.

In Normandy, the region in which the assault took place, the "sparhawk" plan was launched, with the deployment of "several hundred agents" in the area , said Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin.
