Rudolph Giuliani was injured in a car accident in New Hampshire on Saturday evening and taken to the hospital with a fractured spine. Michael Ragusa, the former New York City mayor's safety director and former lawyer for President Trump, announced the news. The 81-year-old Giuliani was traveling on the highway after stopping to help a "female victim of domestic violence," Ragusa said in a social media post. He did not provide further information about the accident, including where in New Hampshire it occurred or whether the former mayor was behind the wheel.

Giuliani called 911 (the emergency number) and waited with the woman until help arrived, Ragusa added. When he continued his journey, his vehicle was hit from behind "at high speed."

Giuliani was transported to an unspecified hospital. He was diagnosed with a fractured thoracic vertebra, as well as injuries to his left leg and arm, bruises, and lacerations , Ragusa said, assuring that the former mayor "is in good spirits and is recovering well."
