"The Terra convoy is currently under attack . Unidentified vehicles are reportedly ramming tents, and people are being beaten and forcibly dragged into cars and buses ," the Italian delegation of the Global Sumud Flotilla said of activists in Libya.

" Men and women are being violently attacked and forced to leave the site ," the movement adds. "Although it is unclear who is behind the attacks, we are receiving reports that they are being perpetrated by security forces linked to the authorities in western Libya."

The ground convoy departed on May 15 (Nakba Day) carrying seven ambulances, 20 mobile homes, ten trucks of humanitarian aid, and over 200 participants from more than 25 countries. Seven Italians were present, following the return home of four of their compatriots.

"Despite communication difficulties, we learned that there were injuries in the violent attack on the land convoy in Libya . Some of the foreign activists were beaten so severely that they lost consciousness," said Maria Elena Delia, Italian spokesperson for the Global Sumud Flotilla. "It seems they are being taken by bus westward, perhaps to Misrata," she added.

INVESTIGATION IN ROME – Meanwhile, the Rome Prosecutor's Office is continuing its investigation into the detention in Israel of the participants in the 'sea' expedition after the boats boarded in international waters.

Around ten names from the Israeli chain of command are being examined by prosecutors, who are assessing possible criminal charges against their actions. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir is also among them, having taunted the activists—caught on video—while they were kneeling with their hands tied behind their backs in the port of Ashdod. The names appear in a file submitted to investigators by the Flotilla's Italian legal team, which refers to a list from the Hind Rajab Foundation, an organization that collects documents on alleged war crimes, which also includes military officials. Meanwhile, the Carabinieri ROS (Special Operations Squad) will continue interviewing the repatriated activists and will also analyze their devices. Prosecutors suspect kidnapping, but are also considering other charges, such as torture and sexual assault.
