About 200,000 people in Australia have been ordered by the emergency services to evacuate their homes due to the heavy rains that are heading towards Sydney and which, on their way, have already left 13 victims.

The weather warning even for strong winds is very high. The affected area covers a 400-kilometer strip of land that stretches along the east coast of the country, including the suburbs of Sydney, the largest city with 5 million inhabitants.

For more than a week, torrential rainfall has been ravaging the east coast between the states of Queensland and New South Wales.
