Meeting at the White House between Stellantis President John Elkann and US President Donald Trump.

As reported by American media and confirmed by a company spokesperson, during the meeting Trump opened up to the possibility of reinstating less stringent standards on car emissions.

The president of Stellantis, Trump clarified, did not ask for a suspension of the 25% duties that his administration intends to introduce on cars imported into the United States.

It is essential for Elkann to continue the dialogue with the president and his administration at a complex time for the US automotive industry . Stellantis is one of the largest automakers operating in the United States, with 75,000 employees, an annual turnover of approximately 63.5 billion euros and approximately 1.4 million vehicles delivered.

Elkann had already met Trump shortly before his inauguration at the White House and on that occasion they also discussed the future of the automotive industry.
