Colorado continues to burn.
The fires have potentially destroyed more than 500 homes already, the Boulder County sheriff said last night.
"We know that about 370 houses in the Sagamore subdivision have been destroyed. It is possible that another 210 have been destroyed in Old Town Superior," explained Joe Pelle at a press conference.
At least 648 acres of greenery went up in smoke in Boulder County, with the flames also reaching hotels and shopping malls.
"I would like to emphasize the extent and intensity of this fire and its presence in such a densely populated area: we would not be surprised if there were any injuries or deaths," warned Sheriff Pelle.
The US state is simultaneously facing a historic drought.
