Becciu: «I rejoiced with Leo XIV, I offer my sufferings for the good of the Church»

Cardinal Angelo Becciu did not take part in the Conclave but lived in St. Peter's Square and then in the Sistine Chapel the historic day of the election of a pontiff born in the United States. Cardinal Becciu's resignation brought the quorum for the election of the new Pope to 89 votes, then reached by Leo XIV in the fourth ballot yesterday afternoon.
" I met Leo XIV, I embraced him , I rejoiced with all the cardinals." On the suffering related to the judicial affair he says: "I offer it for the good of the Church."
