The US Congressional Commission investigating the January 6, 2021 Capitol Hill assault wants to hear from former Vice President Mike Pence by the end of the month.
This was announced by the chairman of the commission, Democrat Bennie Thompson, who specified that Pence will be asked to testify voluntarily, without any mandatory subpoena.
Pence opposed Donald Trump that day by refusing to block the certification of Joe Biden's victory in the presidential elections in the Senate.
In those hours he was one of the main targets of the attackers, considered a traitor for not having endorsed Trump's theory of fraud and stolen elections.
Some of Pence's closest associates are allegedly already collaborating on the investigation.
