Bad accident for an Airbus Ita which collided with a Delta Airlines aircraft on a runway at JFK airport in New York.

The accident took place on January 2 but the videos and details of the incident are only emerging in the last few hours . According to the reconstructions, the right wing of the Italian aircraft hit the tail of the American aircraft . The first was sheared cleanly , the second suffered serious damage.

A video released on Youtube explains the dynamics of the collision . On 2 January, the control tower of the New York airport receives a call from US pilots who report that they have been rear-ended by an aircraft they call " Alitalia ". Immediately after the confirmation: from the window they see a blue Airbus of the Ita company, with a severed wing.

That evening the 200 passengers of the Ita flight are unable to leave and are accommodated in hotels close to the airport. The dynamics was also confirmed by the Italian drivers. The intervention of the emergency services and the fire brigade was not necessary because the two aircraft did not catch fire.

Ita Airways, in a note released by the company , speaks of a "minor" event. And he states that "similar incidents do not rarely occur in very congested airports, especially in ground handling".
