Miguel Hidalgo wins the Men's Elite in the Italian stage of the World Triathlon Championship Series currently underway in Alghero.
Minister Andrea Abodi is also present at the event, organised by the Italian Triathlon Federation, with the collaboration of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry for Sport and Youth, the Sardinia Region, the Municipality of Alghero and the Alghero Foundation.
The 25-year-old Brazilian stopped the clocks at 1:44:05, 28” ahead of the Championship leader, 27-year-old Australian Matthew Hauser.
The third step of the podium was taken by 29-year-old Frenchman Leo Bergere, 1'04” behind Hidalgo.
28-year-old Italian Nicola Azzano finished 27th in 1h49'19”.
The Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi and the President of World Triathlon Antonio Arimany were there to award the men's podium prizes.
