The two-match closed-door game against Tempio has become a real issue, one for events that allegedly occurred last Saturday against Lanusei and one for the revocation of the suspension already in place for the Gallura club. Following the Sports Judge's decision, which relies on the report in which the referee and two assistants had reported insults directed at them, the entire community is opposing the measure and calling for the sanction to be revoked.

"I entrust my reflections on the incident to your well-known sensitivity as a sportsman and a federal official of recognized authority and competence," the note from Tempio Mayor Gianni Addis, sent to the President of the Sardinia Regional Committee, Gianni Cadoni. "I intend to express my firm dissent regarding the sanction. [...] It is disproportionate and unjust and risks compromising the sporting activities of our community, supported by a club that has always demonstrated commitment to promoting the values of sport and respect ."

Mayor Addis disputes strict liability towards the Temple, as it fails to take into account the club's efforts to ensure the event's safety. "The verbal abuse of a few troublemakers, and certainly not the vast majority of fans, cannot be attributed to the will of the club and its management," he notes. "The sanction imposed, which risks compromising the success of upcoming matches, certainly damages the club's image, the morale of the players and the crowd, and has a negative impact on the entire local football movement. It also leaves a distorted and undeserved perception of the fairness of the crowd and of an entire community that has always been known for its politeness and integrity. I therefore call for the sanction to be revoked or amended, as it is unreasonable, disproportionate, and inconsistent with the principles of sports law ."

The appeal was announced by Tempio's president, Salvatore Sechi. "I do not accept this measure. I consider it profoundly unfair, and we will do everything we can to assert our rights in the appropriate forums," he criticized. "It leaves me very perplexed and quite annoyed. We don't understand the reasoning, especially since there was nothing unfair in the last match against Lanusei. This football is starting to feel like it's no longer my thing: taking measures of this kind against our fans and our club is, in my opinion, quite serious. We have been, are, and always will be with our fans. This measure angers us because of how it was proposed, and we will oppose it with all our legal strength. But it binds us even more to our fans, and I can assure you that the team will be even more determined."

Tomorrow at 3:00 PM, Tempio, tied with Nuorese on 15 points, will play away to Ferrini in Matchday 8. The matches they are expected to play behind closed doors are Sunday the 9th against Calangianus, a Gallura derby, and Saturday the 22nd against Iglesias .
