The value of environmental destruction, the financial benefit for speculators, amounts to 122 billion. Exemplary data describing the severity of the wind attack against Sardinia. It emerged during the forum “Insularity, landscape and environment” which took place in the “Giorgio Pisano” room of L'Unione Sarda in Cagliari.

In the meeting, conducted and moderated by Maria Antonietta Mongiu and Rita Dedola, respectively president and member of the "Insularity in the Constitution" committee, the interventions had a common denominator: concern for the future and the need to act against energy speculation that heavily influence the development of the island.

There is also data on the value of the incentives that the wind lords could collect if the projects presented were to get the green light: «They could collect over eight million euros in a year, a very high figure if we consider that the Region's budget is slightly higher", underlined the editor of the L'Unione Sarda group Sergio Zuncheddu . According to Don Francesco Tamponi, director of the Cultural Heritage office of the Sardinian Episcopal Conference , "these are profiteers who come to our lands to steal the wind". For Maria Antonietta Mongiu «it is a new form of colonialism. But now we have become aware of the value of our environmental assets and we will do everything to defend them."

Raffaele Sestu , president of the Pro Loco Union, assures that «the associations that operate in the territories to enhance traditions and ancient vocations are ready to mobilize against energy speculation».
