It seemed to never end, and perhaps all tennis fans wished it would. After a marathon of 4 hours and 42 minutes Carlos Alcaraz defeats Novak Djokovic (1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4), becoming king of Wimbledon at just twenty years and two months: he his second Grand Slam victory, following his success at the last US Open.

An extraordinary game, played at very high levels by two sporting phenomena: the Spaniard starts with the handbrake on, giving Nole an easy life. After the first set, however, Alcaraz frees his arm , the level of shots rises and the Serbian suffers the backlash.

The second set is a battle that only ends in the tie-break, in the third – after a game, the fifth, which lasted 26 minutes – Djokovic loses his clarity and the Spaniard takes the lead. The best Nole is seen again in the fourth set, but in the decisive one Carlito is a sentence. Snatches the break in the third game, then makes no more mistakes.

It's almost a handover: Wimbledon, and tennis in general, have a new king.
