Whoopi Goldberg, in praise of Sardinia: «I spend a lot of time there. That's why I'm actually 206 years old...»
The actress, who lives in Stintino, sings the praises of the island on US TV: «You eat well there, the air is clean and you have little crap to think about»“You spend a lot of time in Sardinia, right? The land of centenarians...”. “Yes, in fact I am actually 206 years old...”.
A funny skit on American TV channel NBC between Whoopi Goldberg and Jimmy Fallon , host of one of the most famous US talk shows, in whose living room some of the most famous stars in show business usually sit.
This time it was the turn of the 69-year-old Oscar-winning actress, who has long been divided between the United States and Stintino , where she has found a home and where she always willingly returns .
Why? She explained it herself during her appearance on NBC, underlining, half-jokingly and half-seriously, the reasons why, in her opinion, people live longer and better on the Island.
Sardinians, unlike Americans, "don't have too much crap to think about, like we do. We Americans are stressed, to the point that people always walk around angry, even with their hands closed."
In Sardinia it's different, explains Whoopi: "There's no stench in the air, there's no rubbish in the food. On the contrary, our ways of doing things are not always the best ways for us."
So it’s time for Americans to start taking a cue . How? “By starting to recognize,” Goldberg added, “that we eat things that have ingredients that we can’t even pronounce. And I say,” he concluded jokingly, “ if you can’t pronounce the name of something, then never put it in your mouth to eat it.”
