More water in the reservoirs with the latest rains and more resources available for irrigation. The only critical issues continue to concern the rio Mannu di Pattada in Monte Lerno (irrigation area of the Piana di Chilivani, managed by the Consortium of Reclamation of Northern Sardinia) which recorded, in March, only a modest increase in the volume of pots and the reservoir of Bidighinzu (irrigation area of the Valle dei Giunchi, managed by ENAS) where in March there was practically no increase in the volume of pots.

In any case, the share of resources allocated to the irrigation sector was integrated (+ 49 Mcm), which went from the total pre-assignment of 435.50 Mcm to a new total pre-assignment of 484.50 Mcm.

"In a critical moment for most of the Italian regions in terms of water supply, Sardinia, historically penalized for the lack of springs and other natural sources, can instead breathe a sigh of relief thanks to the filling of the reservoirs, which combined with the strong interconnection of water systems and effective system governance allows us to look to the future with serenity, removing the specter of drought ", the words of the President of the Region, Christian Solinas. “Water is a precious but limited and fragile commodity. Not only does the safeguarding of the environmental heritage and the drinking water supply depend on a responsible use of the resource, but also, as in this case, the support to strategic sectors of the Region's economy such as agriculture, tourism and industry " .

The increased availability of resources goes hand in hand with the modernization of infrastructures.

A few days ago the reactivation by the South Sardinia reclamation consortium, which recently also built the new pipeline in the Villasor countryside.

"More water available means more resources for the countryside and even for those lands that have hitherto been uncultivated precisely due to the lack of irrigation quotas to be allocated to certain territories - added the councilor for Public Works, Aldo Salaris - We were able to obtain these results despite the extremely dry period that is also affecting our territory starting from the second decade of December ".
