Almost 4.8 million euros for Sardinian agro-pastoral companies affected by the water crisis.

The list of grants for compensation relating to the 2024 emergency has been published on the Laore agency website, involving 3,865 beneficiaries distributed across 142 municipalities that have declared a state of disaster.

The total amount of compensation is 4,762,595 euros, out of a total of 5 million allocated by the Regional Council, on the proposal of the Agriculture Councillor Gian Franco Satta, with the resolution of 13 November 2024.

"This measure represents an important support for farmers affected by the water emergency - comments Satta - demonstrating the commitment of the Region to guarantee the necessary support in crisis situations. We are aware of the difficulties that farmers are facing and, through these compensations, we intend to alleviate the burden of the expenses incurred for emergency interventions . The speed with which we managed to define the list of beneficiaries - he underlines - is a sign of our determination to respond promptly to the needs of the sector. We will continue to work to ensure that the funds arrive quickly and that every farmer receives the support they need".

There are 1,416 companies that will receive an average compensation of 1,400 euros and another 584, an average compensation of 3,500.

These funds are intended to reimburse the expenses incurred by breeders for emergency interventions, through the so-called vouchers (LR n. 13 of 18.09.2024). The preliminary investigation phase, entrusted to Laore, led to the definition of the list of beneficiaries in just six months. In addition, the granting of a further 203 practices extracted at random for control is expected. The implementation directives, issued by decree of Councilor Satta, establish that the individual Municipalities will carry out the necessary procedures for payments to beneficiaries .
