In Italy there is a problem of wages.

This is supported by Federcontribuenti who, in a note from its president Marco Paccagnella, based on a study by the trade association: « The employment rate in Italy is 58% while in the rest of the European Union it is 70%, not only , this 58% has a salary of less than 1,100 euros and works without shifts, days off, adequate hours. And 95% of the workforce in Italy is accounted for by companies with fewer than 10 employees, precisely those that fall into the category of regular customers of the Revenue and Collection Agency and banks. Where the cyclopean eye of the taxman is relentless with tax bombings and labor costs that affect, up to bending, the salaries themselves. At this rate, in 2030 we will have a million more citizens in need of subsidies and the INPS has been denouncing the accounts in the red for some time ».

According to Paccagnella "the drama of the salaries of Italian workers" travels parallel to that of VAT numbers. Only 1% of the self-employed declare that they earn more than 100,000 euros, recalls Paccagnella, «the remaining 95% have gross bills of around 30,000 euros a year. A lump sum earning 30,000 euros a year will pay around 9,000 euros in taxes; after which he will have to deduct salaries, energy costs, rent suppliers and loans with financial institutions ».
