Volotea reiterates its interest in Sardinia and in a note confirms "the intention to participate in the acceptance of the connections between Cagliari and Rome Fiumicino for the summer months", underlining the commitment "to facilitate travel" to and from the Isola "even after the expiry of the current period of territorial continuity".

The low cost however clarifies that “the increase in the cost of fuel and the evolution of the international scenario have determined a climate of uncertainty for the entire aviation sector. For these reasons Volotea is able for the moment to reconfirm the Cagliari - Rome Fiumicino route only for the summer period. The company, in fact, is still analyzing the data on the territorial continuity routes and the evolution of the scenario, and has not yet reached a decision on which routes will be operated between the other Sardinian airports and the airports of Milan Linate and Rome Fiumicino. ".

The comparison with the Region is frequent, "especially in relation to the recent increases in the cost of fuel", and the carrier "will try to outline as soon as possible a clearer scenario regarding the summer period", aiming to "reinforce its presence in local level ".

Finally, the company confirms "all flights to and from Sardinia announced outside territorial continuity".
