Two male choirs in Porto Torres, belonging to different generations, complete the cast of the International Festival of polyphonic music Voices of Europe . After the announcement of the participation of the Ingenium Ensemble and Orientis Partibus , the organization of the 40th Voci d'Europa international festival of polyphonic music closed the agreements with two other formations, the Tölzer Knabenchor and the Neri Per Caso .

With them there will be a total of eleven groups that will take part in the event scheduled from 2 to 10 September in Porto Torres and in other locations in the North West of Sardinia.

The Tölzer Knabenchor, founded in Bad Tölz in Germany, is a children's choir . He performs more than 150 concerts and operas a year. The repertoire includes all areas of choral singing, from the Baroque to the present day, with a particular focus on the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, as well as all the important boys' roles in operatic literature. From the classical tradition we move on to pop with the best-known a cappella group on the Italian scene: they are Neri Per Caso, who won the "New Proposals" section of the Sanremo Festival in 1995. During their career, Neri Per Caso have collaborated with some of the most important Italian artists, such as Lucio Dalla, Gino Paoli, Claudio Baglioni, Renato Zero, Mario Biondi and foreigners, including Bobby McFerrin.

«The cast of the fortieth edition is completed with these two important formations – underlines the artistic director of Voci d'Europa, Laura Lambroni – we will give space to many genres, from the sacred music of the Renaissance and Romanticism, passing through medieval music, l opera, jazz and pop songs. Several local choirs have also expressed their willingness to participate in the Festival this year by formalizing their registration and we are ready to draw up the complete program which will be communicated in the next few days».

«In addition to Porto Torres and Asinara, five other municipalities in our area will be involved in the Voices of Europe events: Sassari, Sorso, Santa Maria Coghinas, Borutta and Monteleone Rocca Doria. We have chosen significant and special locations, because the Festival can also become a channel for the promotion of splendid identifying places to be rediscovered thanks to music», underlines Maria Maddalena Simile , president of the Turritano Polyphonic Choir, the association organizing the event.
