Important meeting in Villamassargia , organized by Fidapa Sulcis chaired by Annarita Cogoni, on the figure of Grazia Deledda to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Nobel Prize.

The event, scheduled for this evening at 6 pm at Casa Fenu, was desired thanks to the commitment of the Service Club that promotes, coordinates and supports the initiatives of women who work in the fields of Arts, Professions and the Economy, in collaboration with the Jane Austen Sardegna Club chaired by Gabriela Podda.

The conference is part of the Fidapa International Theme dedicated to the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, 17 objectives relating to three different areas, social, economic and environmental.

The chosen goal is Goal 5, gender equality , and continues the trend started last year with the third point of the agenda, health and well-being, developed by the Sulcite doctor Maria Chiara Basciu, founder of Fidapa Sulcis and member of the Commission Regional Equal Opportunities, through an important report on painless childbirth which also led to the presentation of a regional draft law on the subject.

"Gender equality - affirms Maria Gemma Moi , past President of the Club - is not only a fundamental human right, but the necessary condition for a prosperous, sustainable and peaceful world".

"Ensuring women and girls equal access to education, medical care, decent work, as well as representation in decision-making, political and economic processes - explains Maria Chiara Basciu - will promote sustainable economies, which will benefit societies and the whole of humanity ".

The developed project emphasizes Grazia Deledda, a model for today's women , who must be brought to the attention of young people above all: unfortunately, schools do not dedicate the importance she deserves to the unforgettable writer because she was an innovative figure. , unique in that it managed to establish itself despite the obstacles of the time it lived, the prejudices and all the limitations that had been imposed on it

The speaker will be Neria De Giovanni , essayist and President of the International Association of Literary Critics in a multi-voice debate moderated by Giuditta Sireus, artistic director of the Jane Austen Sardinia Club, as well as a member of the Fidapa Sulcis Section
