The stalemate in the series over the murder of Sarah Scazzi is broken.

The fiction, blocked by the civil court of Taranto last week, will be broadcast tomorrow, October 30, on Disney+, after the platform, as requested by judge Antonio Attanasio, eliminated the name Avetrana from the title, which thus became “Qui non è Hollywood”.

The hearing for November 5th remains set, but in the meantime the request of the mayor Antonio Iazzi, who feared a serious damage to the image of the Taranto municipality he administers, has been granted: "We believe that we have, at least for the time being, preserved the image of the community that I represent - the mayor commented - while we will continue in every competent venue, where necessary, to protect the rights of my fellow citizens. We will ensure that the name Avetrana is removed from every form of advertising, already spread, of the cinematographic event in question, because Avetrana cannot and must not be identified only with the terrible news story".

"I believe - he highlights - that this is a unique case in Italy. All the news spread about similar cases do not appear, in truth, to be absolutely comparable to that which is the subject of the pending litigation due to the peculiar features that distinguish it". "In this period - he continues - the hashtag '#IOSonoAvetrana...not just a name' has spread on the web; it generates a strong emotion to feel the sense of belonging of my people, for the defense of the image of the territory and the dignity of the community".

"A sincere thank you - he concludes - to the defense team: Professor Attorney Fabio Saponaro, Attorney Stefano Bardaro and Professor Attorney Luca Bardaro for the professionalism, dedication and passion with which they are tackling this dispute".

The crime

Sarah Scazzi, 15, was killed and thrown into a well on August 26, 2010. Sabrina Misseri and Cosima Serrano, the victim's cousin and aunt, were definitively sentenced to life in prison, while her uncle, Michele Misseri, accused of suppression and concealment of a corpse, was released from prison last February after serving 8 years in prison . Once released, the man gave several television interviews, once again accusing himself of the crime , just like when he was arrested and allowed the body to be found in Contrada Mosca in October 14 years ago.

The series

Directed by Pippo Mezzapesa, who also wrote the screenplay together with Antonella W. Gaeta, Davide Serino, Carmine Gazzanni and Flavia Piccinni, the series - continues the official note - is produced by Matteo Rovere, a Groenlandia production.

The series is based on the book Sarah the girl from Avetrana, written by Carmine Gazzanni and Flavia Piccinni and published by Fandango Libri.
