Regarding Anas contracts "there is an ongoing investigation, which began well before the current government took office, which does not involve Matteo Salvini or other political exponents , therefore, we await developments".

Fratelli d'Italia reiterates this after the harsh declarations of the opposition forces on the investigation by the Rome Prosecutor's Office involving Denis and Tommaso Verdini , father and brother of the deputy prime minister's partner, and after the news that the investigation would also include an interception in which mention was made of an alleged "agreement with the League" .

FdI therefore rallies around its government ally , but, as mentioned, the minority continues to press the Northern League leader, asking him to report to Parliament.

"Salvini spare us the photos of the New Year's Eve dinner and confirm that he will come to report to Parliament about the serious events we read about in the newspapers regarding Anas contracts", said the Democratic Party secretary, Elly Schlein. Adding: «On any criminal liability of the suspects - some of whom are personally linked to the Minister - justice will take its course, it is not our role, but what emerges from the ordinances on the contested system of intermediation between public managers and entrepreneurs is enough to favor them in procurement, a system according to the investigations also based on the relationships claimed by the suspects with members of the government and politicians, to ask Minister Salvini to shed full light and come to Parliament to answer, for the transparency that in his role he owes to the country and to publicly remove – concluded the dem leader – any shadow on the progress of her ministry".
