What happened to Emanuele Pozzolo has nothing to do with his political profile: he was in a car accident, and this concerns his private life. Some newspapers have made a national case for him going off the road with, unfortunately, a blood alcohol level higher than the legal limit. The law is the same for everyone, and if Pozzolo made a mistake, he will get the punishment he deserves.
Roberto Vannacci, MEP and leader of the National Future party, stated this regarding the case of the MP who went off the road in Biella in his SUV: the National Future party member tested positive for alcohol but stated that he wasn't drunk at the time of the crash. The cause was believed to be the asphalt, which had been made impassable by rain.
"He's certainly not setting the best example, which is why the sanction he receives will be absolutely fair," Vannacci added, but "I'm ruling out politically motivated disciplinary measures: the example he's setting is also that of being fined just like all citizens."
