After 14 months Valentina Uras is stepping down from her position as Director to pursue a new career within the Sardinia Region. Effective today, the current Director of the National Museums of Cagliari, archaeologist Francesco Muscolino, will temporarily manage the Regional Directorate of the National Museums of Sardinia, under the authority of the Director General of Museums, Massimo Osanna.
The now former director, Valentina Uras, commented: "I would like to thank all the staff of the Regional Directorate for their dedication over these fourteen months together, which has allowed us to complete so many projects, including others still in the pipeline, and to keep our museums alive. My heartfelt thanks go to them," she concluded, "and I am certain they will continue to work with the same passion and great professionalism."
Archaeologist Francesco Muscolino will provide administrative continuity to plan new projects and manage those implemented under the PNRR, optimize communication and promotion activities, and continue the significant work carried out to date by all DRMN Sardinia staff to promote the use of state-owned museums and archaeological sites in the region.
