The world of the Sardinian countryside is mobilizing and raising the cry of alarm for the continuation of the serious state of drought, the daily damage caused by wildlife and to raise awareness, writes Coldiretti in a note, « on the next European programming dictated by a Community policy which has not put the farmer at the center of its policies."

MOBILITATION

Tomorrow, Monday 17 June, from 10am to 1pm, the great mobilization of Coldiretti Sardinia will start from the "Vie del mare" on the eastern coast of the island and will bring hundreds of farmers and tractors to the streets until 11 July to shine the spotlight on a sector in difficulty. A month of actions throughout the regional territory with, at the centre, the burning issues for agriculture and livestock. On Monday the appointment is in the areas most affected by a drought that is leaving dozens of companies no escape.

THE PROCESSIONS

There will be two events scheduled tomorrow with two tractor parades, from North to South, in particular between Sarrabus, South Sardinia, Ogliastra, Baronia and Gallura. The first procession will parade along the Strada Statale 125 and has three starting points: two from the South (starting at the Strada Statale 125 VAR north side, Murtas junction - 54,600 km and starting at the Castiadas Olia Speciosa junction - 29,400 km) and one from the North (Zone industrial Tertenia – Località San Pietro - NU). The arrival point of the two processions is located at the San Giorgio Quirra-Villaputzu SS125 VAR junction. The second event (simultaneously) will parade along the Strada Statale 131 DCN and has two starting points (Olbia – Ovilò - S.Teodoro exit and Siniscola – Industrial area). The arrival point of the two processions is located at the Budoni-Agrustos junction.

«We open on Monday a moment of great mobilization which will lead to important events in sensitive places in Sardinia with the aim of shining the spotlight of public opinion on the difficulties that our farmers and breeders experience every day on issues that are so important for the world of the countryside - underline Battista Cualbu and Luca Saba, president and director of Coldiretti Sardinia - Sardinia, as already on the national side, is carrying out an action to try to build a better future for local communities, especially in terms of water infrastructures that could alleviate the great thirst that the camps are experiencing and to support citizens and companies in their daily lives and activities".

«Precisely because of the demonstrations , we apologize for any inconvenience that will be created for motorists and tourists – warns Coldiretti – but we believe that it is an opportunity to all join together in this action which affects all our local communities. Given the importance of the day, all the institutions were also invited to join Coldiretti at the meeting on the Via del mare, without distinction of political colour, from the leaders of the Region and Regional Council to the local one with, in the lead, the first citizens of the territories concerned, up to the ANCI, ANBI and reclamation consortia".
