A first strike tomorrow in Cagliari with a demonstration from 10 to 12 in front of the Southern Sardinia Confindustria in viale Colombo, then the mobilization will extend to the whole island , in a day of abstention from regional work to be scheduled in September. It is the result of the lack of agreement on the contract for the Tourism Industry sector which expired six years ago.

«The workers who guarantee the quality of a strategic sector for the province and for the whole of Sardinia - explained the territorial secretaries of Cagliari Simone Congiu (Filcams Cgil), Giuseppe Atzori (Fisascat Cisl) and Cristiano Ardau (Uiltucs Uil ) - do not deserve the indifference with which the counterparties avoid a negotiation that has the objective of improving their conditions and the serious inconveniences linked to the continuous loss of purchasing power".

There are sixteen hours of strike proclaimed at a national level by Filcams, Fisascat and Uiltucs, a protest that will involve all of Italy and also the island over several days . Tomorrow is the first round but the battle will continue "until Confindustria agrees to sit at the table and share the right advances, starting from wages that are no longer in step with the cost of living", the unions say.

«At the moment the counterparties would like to discuss flexibility and availability, fixed-term contracts and apprenticeships, totally bypassing the most important issues for the lives of workers. We are faced with a short-sighted and harmful attitude for the sector", explain Congiu, Atzori and Ardau, underlining that "the negotiations will continue until Confindustria agrees to address unresolved issues such as wage increases, measures against precariousness, tenders and internalisations, combating violence and harassment in the workplace, leave for women victims of violence, parenting".
